In a suit filed by his lawyers, the singer requested unrestricted access to his daughter, claiming that he had been responsible for Imade’s education, housing, transportation, living expenses, health care, and periodic travel.
Davido said, “It is on record that I have been responsible for the payment of all the school fees of my daughter to provide her with the best education possible and to meet all her educational needs without a hitch.
“I have also been providing money for the rent of the apartment where the respondent (Sophia) resides with our daughter.
He added that on some occasions when he had tried contributing to the life of his daughter, he was frustrated by outrageous demands from Momodu.
Responding to the lawsuit, Momodu released a statement, claiming that since they ended their relationship in July 2022, Davido had refused to contact their child or provide emotional and financial support to her.
Sophia began the press conference by providing background information about her connection with Davido. She stated they were together from 2014 to 2017, and again from 2020 to 2022. According to her, the singer financially supported her and Imade while they were together.
Sophia went on to add that she ended her relationship with Davido in July 2022, and since then, he has vowed to make her life miserable if she does not sleep with him. She went on to say that OBO chose not to visit their daughter, Imade, since she never refused him the chance.
According to Sophia, Davido never contacted Imade on major occasions such as her birthday or Christmas, but instead made postings online to represent himself as a caring and supportive dad.
In Sophia’s press statement, she also detailed how Davido had not fulfilled his financial responsibilities to Imade, including not paying her school fees despite the school reaching out to him on different occasions. It was revealed that at a point, the singer’s billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, had to step in and pay the fees.
