JIBOLA DABO CELEBRATES 82

Renowned Nollywood actor, Jibola Dabo, recently, marked a significant milestone, celebrating his 82nd birthday. Born on August 12, 1942, in Lagos State, Nigeria, Dabo has had a remarkable life and career.

Dabo hailed from Owo, Ondo State, and pursued his academic interests with passion. He graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and later earned a Master’s Degree in Mass Media from Columbia State University in the United States.

Dabo’s acting journey began at the tender age of 6, and he officially debuted in Nollywood in 2006. His notable works include “Dirty Secrets” (2009), “Bloody Carnival”, “My Fantasy” (2010), and “The Silent Baron” (2022). With a career spanning over six decades, Dabo has solidified his position as a veteran actor in the Nigerian film industry.

Dabo was honored with the Best Actor of the Year award at the Zuma Film Festival (ZUFF), a testament to his exceptional talent.

In 2015, Dabo had aspirations to represent Owo federal constituency in Ondo State at the Federal House of Representatives, showcasing his desire to make a positive impact beyond the film industry.

Dabo has a child with popular Nigerian actress, Binta Ayo Mogaji, although they were not married. This experience has undoubtedly shaped his life and perspective.

His contributions to the Nigerian film industry and his enduring legacy continue to inspire new generations of actors and filmmakers.
