THE STORY OF MY FIRST WIFE, RMD

Nollywood veteran, Richard Mofe-Damijo famously known as RMD has recounted how he met his first wife and how the marriage came to an end.

RMD, in an interview, disclosed that his union with his first wife started in 1989 and ended in 1996.

He noted that people don’t know much about his first wife because the union happened a long time ago.

He said, “It started in 1989 and ended in 1996. I met her somewhere and she sent me a note. She was a writer, and she wrote that if I did not mind the stares of the men who adored her, and if I was man enough, I should go on a date with her. I responded that they had not given birth to the man that could make me feel intimidated.”

On how the union ended, RMD said, “The marriage eventually ended, because she passed on. It was an unfortunate Easter period. She had a fibroid operation that went wrong.”

When asked if he thinks he would have come this far if not for his good looks, RMD answered saying, “I would. It comes with the grace of love in the work one does. There are many good-looking actors and actresses in the world that don’t have half of the things that some other actors who are not good-looking have. So, the grace is the extra favor; which is also the God factor.”
