A PEEP INTO SOLA FOSUDO’S WORLD

Long before Tony Umez took over the perfect movie simp character, there is a certain Sola Fosudo, who would do anything to please a woman and still always suffers evil from them.

Sola Fosudo is a veteran Yoruba Actor who was among the pioneers of the Industry and also among the first to break into mainstream Nollywood at a time It was transforming into Home Video. He was a strong figure who helped to uplift the Industry when it was still coming up.  He is a Nigerian prolific dramatist, scholar, critic, film actor, and director.

Sola, who hails from Lagos State, was trained as a dramatist at Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Ibadan where he obtained a Master of Arts degree in drama.

He has featured and directed several Nigerian films. He is the Head of the Department of Theatre Art, Lagos State University, and the University’s Director of Information.
