It was gathered that the cleric died on Saturday after a brief illness. He was 90 years old.
The church announced the news of his demise via Twitter.
“The Redeemed Christian Church of God wishes to announce that Pastor (Prof) Folagbade Olajide Aboaba has gone home to be with the Lord,” RCCG tweeted.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Pastor (Prof.) Folagbade Aboaba.”
The deceased was the Executive Secretary of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities from 1992 to 1998.
Aboaba was the founding Pro-Chancellor of Redeemers University.
The deceased was also the Chairman of Governing Council of Federal Institutes of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO), Lagos (1976-1979).
