MAHAMA CALLS TINUBU GHANA PRESIDENT

Ghana’s President, John Mahama, made a notable mix-up on Tuesday when he mistakenly referred to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu as the president of Ghana during his inauguration speech.

While acknowledging dignitaries at the event, Mahama said: “Your excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, president of the Federal Republic of Ghana.”

President Bola Tinubu left Abuja on Monday for Accra, the capital of Ghana, to attend the inauguration of President John Mahama.

A statement from Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to the president on information and strategy, confirmed that Tinubu’s trip was made at the invitation of the president-elect.

Following his re-election in December, Mahama had paid a visit to Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
