TIWA SAVAGE: I WAS A FIRST WIFE, IT DIDN’T GET ME ANYWHERE

Nigerian singer, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has spoken about her viral statement on being open to becoming a second wife, explaining the feelings behind her comment.

In a recent interview, the 45-year-old stated that her remark was born out of personal experiences and heartbreak, rather than a genuine desire to be anyone’s second wife.

She reflected on her past marriage, saying:

“I was a first wife, where did that get me? I got married as the only wife, but here we are. I’m tired of being heartbroken; maybe I’m getting it wrong. Maybe I should try being a second wife.”

Tiwa clarified that her statement was not a reflection of her actual wishes but rather an expression of frustration.

“It’s not my choice, though. I don’t want to. I wish I could tell my truth, but I will be dragged,” she added.

Tiwa Savage was married to music executive Tunji Balogun, known as TBillz, from 2013 to 2018, and they share a son together before their marriage ended amid mutual accusations of infidelity and emotional strain.
