Working with the national security adviser puts these people very close to the seat of power where a birdview of of the inner working of the government is possible. Infiltration of Nuhu Ribadu’s office provides a perfect cover because Ribadu is the door to this government. Possibly, an unseen hand was working underground, carefully replacing Ribadu’s men with the coup plotters. That unseen hand was probably planting the coup plotters strategically to allow for quick strike when D- Day comes.
Enters Mallam Nasiru El Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna state. In desperation to accuse the government of political persecution but definitely, by divine providence and before the whole world admitted to wire tapping the phone of the national security adviser. He was so enraged with the president and his former friend, Nuhu Ribadu that he openly declared that he heard Ribadu when he gave the order for his arrest. The interviewer asked him how he was so certain and he said ” We listen to their calls” he replied.
El Rufai went on to defend the crime he just committed saying the government also does the same. Realizing he messed up, he tried to waterdown the statement by saying someone did tapped the phone of the national security adviser and gave it to him to listen to. Either way El Rufai’s excessive anger and arrogance have led him into a rabbit hole that might consume him.
The DSS and all our security apparatus must dig beyond El Rufai. I can postulate that El Rufai and his accomplices run an espionage team that has been carrying out covert activities against the security wellbeing of this country. By sayjng ” We” means he is not alone and definitely not only Ribadu’s phone is being wire tapped or bugged. His many incendiary utterances in the last 15 years confirm a man who has been engaging in this heinous, covert and treasonable acts for so long.
With this admittance by El Rufai , we can authoritatively say we now why he kept making the statement “this govenmemt must be removed” incessantly before the news of the coup plot broke in October. He was so determined and fixated in his demand for the removal of an elected government that many wondered why his emphasis was on the the word “remove” . Who knows maybe he and his cohorts were the unseen hands behind the coup plot in October or maybe he knew from his spying activities and waited in anticipation of its execution.
El Rufai must be thoroughly investigated and made to pay for all atrocities he has commited against the Nigerian nation and people of Kaduna state. The security report that was presented at the senate screening that eventually led to him being denied ministerial slot should be made public. El Rufai and his likes and the people who are likely part of the espionage against Nigeria must be fished out no matter how huge and mighty they are.
This nation and its people deserve freedom from the stronghold of those who uses it as a private property. Those who live above the law of the land. Those who trample on rights, dignity and honor of Nigerians.
