ADEBOYE: TRAIN CHILDREN IN THE WAY OF GOD

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged parents to instill godly virtues in their children, warning that neglecting proper upbringing could jeopardize their future.

Pastor Adeboye, who turned 83 today, March 2, delivered a powerful sermon titled “Greater Tomorrow,” which was broadcast from the church’s national headquarters in Ebute-Metta to all RCCG parishes. In his message, he passionately called on parents to take their responsibilities seriously to ensure a brighter and more glorious future for their children.

“Parents, train your children because they are your tomorrow. The Yoruba say a child you fail to train will sell the house you are building. Train them in the way of the Lord; don’t let them do whatever they like. If you don’t train them, you are destroying your future,” he emphasized.

He cited Abraham in the Bible as an example, noting that God blessed Abraham and his descendants because He trusted him to raise his children in godliness. Pastor Adeboye warned that allowing children to go astray could lead to ruin, urging parents to be firm in their faith.

Speaking to young people, he stressed the importance of obedience, honor, and humility: “You are not only to obey your parents but also to honor them. It is in honoring them that you secure your future and live long. Don’t ever think you know more than your parents.”

For a prosperous future, the revered cleric encouraged his listeners to embrace hard work, humility, and submission to God, cautioning against pride. “Pride is a killer. God resists the proud. If you want a future, submit to God, and He will ensure no one tampers with your destiny,” he declared.

Following his sermon, Pastor Oladele Balogun, Special Assistant to the General Overseer (SATGO) Admin and Pastor in Charge of Region 1, led a special prayer session for Pastor Adeboye, asking for strength, grace, and divine guidance for the years ahead. The national headquarters also provided food for thousands of worshippers who gathered to celebrate the occasion.

Pastor Adeboye’s wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, took to Facebook to honor her husband, describing him as a source of inspiration.

“Happy Birthday my Darling, your life has been of tremendous impact to me and everyone around you. I pray that God will increase and bless you beyond measure in Jesus’ name. Welcome to your year of Divine Grace. #EAA83,” she wrote.

The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, also paid tribute, recalling Pastor Adeboye’s time as his mathematics lecturer at the University of Lagos and his spiritual leadership over four decades.

Bishop David Abioye, a former minister of Living Faith Church Worldwide, celebrated Pastor Adeboye as a “true general, a father, mentor, and an embodiment of humility and wisdom.” Quoting Psalm 92:12, he prayed for continued divine strength and grace.

“Daddy, we honor and appreciate you for your relentless pursuit of God’s kingdom. May the Lord bless you with greater strength, divine health, and fresh grace for the years ahead,” he wrote.

As tributes continue to pour in from across the globe, Pastor Adeboye’s impact on millions remains evident, with many celebrating his legacy of faith, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the gospel.
