AMUSAN LEADS NIGERIA TO OLYMPICS

100m hurdles World record holder, Tobi Amusan will be Team Nigeria’s flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Badminton star, Anuoluwapo Opeyori has been named team captain.

The duo’s appointment was announced in a statement released by Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) press officer, Tony Nezianya.

Amusan, the reigning world champion in the 100m hurdles, is one of Nigeria’s brightest medal prospects in Paris.

Opeyori, on the other hand, is an experienced badminton player who has been representing Nigeria since 2017.

He won the African Championships and African Games in the singles event in 2019 and also competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The 2024 Olympic Games will officially kick-off in Paris on Friday.
