AMUSAN TAKES OVER AS THE WORLD’S LEAD

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan stormed to a big win in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational on Sunday.

Amusan clocked a season’s best of 12.40s to win the race.

The 27-year-old beat Jamaica’s Danielle Williams, who ran 12.46s, while Christina Clemons of the United States of America was third in 12.54s.

Amusan has now taken over the world lead from American Tonea Marshall, who had run 12.42s in late April.

The Jamaica Athletics Invitational is a Continental Tour-Silver meet.

The Ogun State born athlete is the World, Commonwealth and African record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles.
