APPROVE DEATH SENTENCE FOR CORRUPTION, OKONKWO TELLS SENATE

Veteran Nollywood actor and a prominent member of the Labour Party (LP), Attorney Kenneth Okwonkwo has said that the Senate should also approve death penalty for corruption.

It was earlier reported that the death sentence for importers and exporters of heroin, cocaine and other hard drugs entering the nation has been passed by the Senate.

The report went on to say that he production, distribution and trafficking of hard narcotics by whatever method are all covered by the proposed death penalty.

However, Kenneth Okwonkwo, in a post he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, said the Senate should also approve death penalty for corruption.

He wrote; “Senate approves death penalty for drug trafficking. Senate should proceed further to approve death penalty for corruption. People die from bad roads, hunger, lack of health care, which are consequences of corruption.”
