BWALA: ELECTRICITY HAS INCREASED

The Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, says electricity supply has improved across parts of Nigeria under the administration of Bola Tinubu, compared to previous years.

Bwala made the remark during an appearance on ARISE News, where he argued that Nigerians now have more access to power than they did in 2015 and 2023.

“Light Has Improved In Parts of the Country; Nigerians Have More Power Now Than They Did in 2015 and 2023,” Bwala said.

According to him, the improvement is not accidental but the result of deliberate policy and legislative interventions aimed at restructuring the power sector.

“We have created the legislative environment that has given rise to the capacity of states, local governments, and even the private sector to participate in both generation and distribution of power,” he said.

He explained that ongoing reforms are designed to open up the electricity market, allowing sub-national governments and private investors to play more active roles in addressing supply gaps.

Bwala maintained that these changes are gradually translating into better electricity availability in different parts of the country, even though challenges in the sector persist.
