DAUGHTER ACCUSED GOV ENO OF KILLING MOTHER

A viral video circulating on social media has stirred controversy in Nigeria’s political and religious circles after Jane Edidiong Ufot, daughter of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, accused her father of complicity in the death of her mother, Pastor Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno, who passed away in September 2024 after a reported illness.

In the emotional video, Jane alleged that her mother’s death, along with the deaths of two of her brothers, were not natural but orchestrated. Visibly distressed, she claimed unnamed individuals were now attempting to harm her and her daughter. The circumstances she described have reignited public scrutiny over the events surrounding the family’s tragedies.

“I’m not a sacrifice; mummy was, but I’m not,” she declared in the recording.

One striking moment in the video shows her handing her phone to her daughter, who appears to be on a video call with Governor Eno. The child is prompted to ask, “So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us? Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?” No audible response is heard from the governor, and Jane does not specify who she believes “they” are.

While Pastor Patience Eno’s passing in 2024 was publicly attributed to natural causes, Jane’s new accusations suggest otherwise and have led to growing calls for an independent investigation. As of press time, the identity of the “baby brother” mentioned remains unconfirmed.

Jane also suggested that her life is in danger as a result of disclosing sensitive information, although she did not specify the nature of the evidence. She stated that she had distributed the material widely to prevent it from being suppressed.

“If I die today or my daughter dies, I can live with that. But my blood will not go scot-free,” she said.

Her comments have prompted widespread reaction from the public and social commentators, many of whom expressed concern for her safety and called for a thorough inquiry.

One commentator remarked, “These are very grave allegations. For her to speak out this way, it suggests there may be more than meets the eye. She may have information that is not yet public. I hope the truth eventually comes to light, and justice, whatever it may be, is served.”

Amid the uproar, unverified rumors have also begun circulating, including claims that the governor may have a second family. Governor Eno has not issued a public statement in response to the video or the accusations.

As the situation unfolds, pressure continues to mount on relevant authorities to ensure the safety of all involved and to transparently investigate the claims.
