DAVIDO: AFROBEAT BEYOND MYSELF, WIZKID, BURNA BOY

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about his current relationship with his colleagues, Wizkid and Burna Boy.

The Fem hitmaker shared that he used to have a personal relationship with the duo, but not anymore.

Davido explained that the conversation surrounding Afrobeats has expanded beyond the popular belief that he, Wizkid, and Burna Boy are the “Big 3” in the genre. He noted that younger artists like Rema and Ayra Starr are also gaining significant recognition on a global scale.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, he said, “I don’t have a personal relationship with them [Wizkid and Burna Boy]. I did at some point in time… The conversation is bigger than the ‘Big 3’ right now; there’s Rema, there’s Ayra Starr and other artists. Right now, I think the three of us understand that it is bigger than us.”

On his fallout with Tiwa Savage, Davido said, “Tiwa Savage is my sister for life, I love her and her child, we are family. Our fight is just like a brother and sister’s fight. I will never allow anything to happen to her.”
