DOUBTS OVER TRUMP’S ATTACK

In a shocking incident, former US President Donald Trump was the target of an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024. The 78-year-old was grazed by a bullet that “pierced the upper part of [his] ear”, according to Trump himself.

The attack occurred when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the outdoor rally. “US Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated,” officials stated.

Eyewitnesses have come forward with information about the incident. One man told police he saw a shooter on the roof near the rally, while a woman claimed Trump saved his own life by “turning his head” to look at a chart.

The FBI has confirmed that five shots were fired by Crooks, who is now deceased. Tragically, the attack left one spectator dead and two critically injured. An investigation into the killer’s motive is ongoing.

However, the lack of visible blood on Trump’s shirt has led some social media users to question whether the assassination attempt was staged. One person wrote: “Blood, but no wound? Not 1 drop of blood on Trump’s or anyone else’s clothes? Trump’s white shirt collar doesn’t have even 1 drop of blood, when there’s a gunshot wound inches away? Seems faked.”

Another user commented: “Why is Donald Trump giving the shooter a perfect headshot immediately after an attempted presidential assignation? Unless it’s staged…”

Despite the controversy, many have rushed to defend the former President. One social media user pointed out that “Trump enjoys government security service, which protects the president and high-ranking officials. If that’s the case then it means Trump’s team has already infiltrated the security service of the US.”

Former US President Barack Obama also weighed in, writing: “There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics.”
