EFCC, BELLO IN DANCE OF SHAME, RUFAI OSENI

Popular on-air personality Rufai Oseni has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following the ongoing controversy surrounding the arrest of embattled Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

Speculations about Bello’s whereabouts have been the subject of fierce debate after the EFCC denied reports that he was in their custody. The antigraft agency stressed that he remained wanted.

On Wednesday, September 18, the Director of Bello’s Media Office, Ohiare Michael, stated that Yahaya Bello was voluntarily honoring the EFCC’s invitation after consulting with his family, legal team, and political allies.

Various news outlets reported that Bello was in EFCC custody, facing questions about alleged N80.2 billion money laundering charges along with three others.

However, the EFCC released a statement dismissing these reports, clarifying that Bello was not in their custody. He remains a wanted individual with an existing arrest warrant for the alleged money laundering charges.

This latest development has surprised political and social commentators, including Rufai Oseni, who has been vocal about his disapproval of how the EFCC has handled Bello’s case. In a tweet early Thursday, September 19, Oseni simply wrote, “EFCC and Yahaya Bello Dancing Ngwo gwo gwo.”
