EKITI GOV DISSOLVES CABINET

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has dissolved the state’s executive council, retaining only six commissioners and a few other top officials.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro, the governor directed all affected commissioners and special advisers to hand over to the permanent secretary or the most senior civil servant in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.

The dissolution, however, does not affect the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, as well as the Commissioners for Health and Human Services, Agriculture and Food Security, Education, Works, and Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives.

Also exempted are the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, the Special Adviser on Lands, Survey and e-GIS, and directors general in key offices, including the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Project Monitoring Office, and the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

“Governor Oyebanji thanks the affected members of the state executive council and wishes them success in their future endeavours,” the statement added.
