EX-PRESIDENT CARTER DIES AT 100

The 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100, his organization, The Carter Center has announced.

Carter, who celebrated his centenary in October, died peacefully on Sunday afternoon at his home in Plains, Georgia.

His death marks the end of a remarkable life of public service, humanitarian advocacy, and global recognition.

Carter rose to prominence as a Democrat and served as president from 1977 to 1981, a term hampered by economic challenges and international crises.

Despite leaving office with low approval ratings, he rebuilt his legacy through decades of humanitarian work.

His efforts won him the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his efforts to promote human rights and resolve conflicts around the world, from Ethiopia and Eritrea to Bosnia and Haiti.
