FAYOSE PRAISES SANWO-OLU’S PERFORMANCE

A former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has commended Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his impressive performance in office, acknowledging that the governor has surpassed expectations.

Fayose made this statement on Thursday during the commissioning of the Ikeja GRA Network of Roads in Lagos.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain praised Sanwo-Olu for transforming Ikeja into a highbrow area comparable to Ikoyi, highlighting the governor’s commitment to infrastructural development in the state.

“I am one Nigerian who will not say what I don’t mean even if they will kill me. I will say it. I am not a member of APC, let me put that on record again. I am not a member of APC and I will never be a member but I will not shy away from the fact that what is good is good.

“When the news of your nomination came about six years ago, (there were) so many reservations but you have proved the bookmakers wrong including myself. All the bookmakers, you have proved us wrong that it is not the colour of the pack but what is right inside that thing. You are a different breed of politician,” Fayose said.

“We celebrate you. We thank God for you. We love you. We cannot extend your tenure, but we’ll continue to push you to extend the works of your hand for the good of humanity,” he added.

In his speech at the event, Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure aimed at improving the lives of Lagos residents.

He assured that no part of the state would be overlooked in the government’s ongoing urban regeneration efforts.

The governor emphasized that the commissioned network of roads would foster socio-economic growth and development in the area, enhance the quality of life for residents, and contribute positively to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Sanwo-Olu said, “The rehabilitated roads and drainage systems will mitigate flooding and erosion, reduce traffic congestion and commute times. It will also enhance safety and security, improve the aesthetics of the environment, and increase property values. More importantly, the completion of this network of roads is expected to further boost business turnover, ultimately contributing to the growth of the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“This achievement would not have been possible without your support and commitment. We have devoted significant time, energy, and resources to implementing strategies for a better Lagos for ourselves and future generations, and it is gratifying to see these efforts yielding results.

“The mandate you have given us continues to inspire our commitment to transform our vision of a Greater Lagos into reality. As we consolidate this mandate, we assure you that we will intensify our efforts to build a Lagos that is safe, prosperous, and economically vibrant, providing an enabling environment for inclusive growth.”
