HOW EX-PARROTXTRA EDITOR WAS KILLED BY ROBBERS

The death of a former Assistant Editor at ParrotXtra Media Network, Ojo Mogbadewa Peter has been confirmed by his family.

According to the brother of the deceased, Enahoro Peter, the experienced mediaman was gunned down and killed by suspected gang of armed robbers somewhere in Molete, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State on August 18, 2025.

Enahoro told PMParrot that his late brother was robbed of his belongings inside his cross-bag but his phone got damaged after the attack.

The destruction of the phone led to the family’s inability to reach out to his friends and media colleagues since afternoon of August 18.

“We were able to reach some of his closest associates on September 8 when we succeeded in repairing the phone,” said Enahoro.

“Eyewitnesses told us that despite the fact that my brother was shouting that the bag he was carrying contained no money, he was shot in the back and robbed.

“The Oyo State Police Command’s Orita Challenge Division contacted the family after the brutal killing of my brother.”

Late Ojo Peter’s journey in the media world took him to Nigerian Tribune, ParrotXtra Magazine/PMParrot.com and Daily Monitor where he worked until his untimely demise.

Management and staff at ParrotXtra Media Network have since joined the state council of Nigerian Union of Journalists to mourn the ‘man-about-town’ media guru.
