The caretaker chairman announced this in a post he on his X handle, saying the appointment takes immediate effect on Wednesday.
Ihunwo is one of the caretaker chairpersons appointed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State amid a political crisis in the state.
Fubara had ensured that the former chairpersons loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, did not get their tenure renewed.
His post reads: “As the Caretaker Chairman of Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State, I have approved the appointment of one hundred Special Assistants.
