MUHAMMED ALI WAS MY HERO, ADEBOYE

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed that he used to be a boxer and his hero in boxing is Muhammad Ali because he has a footwork that is second to none.

The respected cleric revealed this while delivering his message, ‘Meant for the top’.

The cleric, who admonished the congregation to get closer to God and keep working hard to get to the top, said it took a lot to become a champion, judging from his experience as a boxer.

The cleric said, “I used to be a boxer.

“And, one of the things you learn as a boxer is that it takes a lot before you become a champion.”

According to him, “In boxing, my coach taught me years ago. He warned us, Don’t let down your guard; that’s your shield, and when you go to battle against the opponent, make sure you are protecting your head.

The only fellow we know from boxing in those days who never bothered about his shield up here because he has his own shield on his led is Muhammad Alli because he has a footwork that is second to none.  So when you are trying to get to him, he doesn’t bother, he is not wasting his time shielding because he knows he can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.

If you know anything about boxing, he happens to be my hero. You won’t find a scratch on his face.  He doesn’t allow anyone close to his face at all by using his legs.

Now, if you are not Mohammad Alli, keep on your shield.

Adeboye also noted that after becoming a champion, the work was just starting, adding that there would be so many people who would want to take the position away from the champion, hence, the need to work harder than even the challengers.

“The moment you become a champion, you discover that you have just started the work.

“The champion works harder than the challenger because there are many people who want to take your position,” Adeboye said.
