He said this while welcoming The Managing Director, Metro Digital Limited, operator of SLTV (Satellite Television Network), Dr Ifeanyi Nwafor and his Management team on Wednesday, 29th May, 2024, at NBC Headquarters.
The visit was to discuss the company’s strategies and contributions, so far, to the Nigeria broadcast industry.
In addition, was to give insight into its PayTV features, content offerings and technology.
In his welcome address, the Director General, NBC, Mr. Charles Ebuebu, expressed his appreciation to the Metro Digital team’s visit to the Commission. He noted that the nation witnessed the launch of the PayTV platform just a few months ago and is eager to see its progress.
The DG commended the platform’s commitment to innovation and excellence, emphasizing that the broadcast industry looks forward to experiencing the values it promises.
In conclusion, the DG informed SLTV that the Commission would be conducting an inspection visit to their office as part of its regulatory functions. This visit aims to obtain first-hand information on the newly launched project, assess the legitimacy of its operations, and ensure compliance with Nigeria Broadcasting Code.
