NBC, NCC PARTNER FOR TRANSFORMATION

The Director General of Nationl Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Mr Charles Ebuebu, has announced that the NBC is embarking on a transformative journey in partnership with the NCC to achieve the benefits of DSO for Nigeria.

He said this while addressing the members of the press at a joint press conference on Digital Switch Over (DSO), organised by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), On Thursday, August 22,  2024, at Stratton Hotel Asokoro, Abuja.

He emphasized that this collaboration marks a strategic alliance and a unified effort to ensure a smooth transition to digital broadcasting. He assured that the funds allocated to this project will be carefully managed to guarantee that each component of the DSO ecosystem significantly contributes to realizing impactful digital dividends for the nation.

Mr. Ebuebu further highlighted that the DSO project is a catalyst for Nigeria’s media and socio-economic transformation. It is expected to create substantial job opportunities, drive economic growth, and expand the industry. The implementation of precise and comprehensive audience measurement will also enhance marketing efforts and improve content quality.

The DG concluded with the statement, “Together, we are building a brighter future where every Nigerian will benefit from superior broadcast quality, enriched educational content, and expanded opportunities for creativity and innovation.”
