OBASANJO, OONI, TOP DIGNITARIES ATTEND DAVIDO’S WEDDING

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo; Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II; Soun of Ogbomoso Land, Oba Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, and the immediate-past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, were among the guests who attended the much-talked-about wedding ceremony of Afrobeat sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, in Lagos, on Tuesday.

The event is also being graced by an array of other dignitaries, including celebrities from across Nigeria. They included businessman and celebrity bartender, Pascal Okechukwu, a.k.a Cubana Chief Priest, and Pretty Mike, among others.

The wedding has been the talk-of-the-town for days now and trending on social media with the hashtag #Chivido2024 – an acronym coined from the names of the couple – Chioma and Davido – and the year of the wedding.

During the traditional wedding rites, Davido told Chioma’s parents that their daughter would be protected, respected and connected.

Also, in a noteworthy moment captured in a viral video on Tuesday ahead of the wedding ceremony, an excited Davido referred to his uncle and governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, as Nigeria’s future president.

Veteran journalist and former PDP presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, also extended his congratulations to Davido and Chioma. Momodu, who is an uncle to Davido’s first Baby Mama, Sophia Momodu, conveyed his well-wishes on behalf of the Momodu Family. He prayed for God’s blessings on their union, wishing them “good health, prosperity, and unlimited happiness.”

The wedding ceremony is marked by luxury and opulence. In a video circulating on social media, Davido showcased an $800,000 wristwatch (approximately N1.2 billion) that he wore with his first outfit. “Ain’t no fake watch, mehn. $800,000, man,” Davido said, proudly displaying the timepiece.

Prior to the display, Davido had a few days ago claimed that Chioma’s engagement ring was worth the equivalent of three Rolls Royces.
