OJOPAGOGO: MY MARRIAGE WITH MOJI IS COMPLEX

Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor, Razak Olayiwola, popularly known as Ojopagogo, has opened up about his marriage to fellow actor Moji Afolayan, setting the record straight on rumors and shedding light on the complexities of their long-standing relationship.

In a candid interview on Oyinmomo TV, Ojopagogo addressed recent claims suggesting that he had asked his wife to quit acting. He firmly denied the speculation, emphasizing that not only is Moji Afolayan still actively pursuing her career, but she continues to flourish in the industry.

“My wife is still acting, and her career is growing,” he stated. “We’ve even met at three different filming locations this year alone. So how can anyone say I stopped her from acting?”

He made it clear that Moji was already a professional actress before they met, and he has never tried to hinder her progress. Instead, he described a relationship rooted in mutual respect and freedom.

“I don’t dictate to my wife and don’t restrict her freedom. This is a profession she was already pursuing before I even met her, so why would I ask her to quit just because we got married?”

Beyond the rumors, Ojopagogo also gave a rare glimpse into the emotional dynamic of their marriage. While many might envy the couple’s enduring love, the actor revealed that their relationship isn’t without its challenges.

In fact, he admitted that arguments are a daily occurrence between them. “If my wife and I don’t fight, it means we don’t truly love each other,” he said with a smile. “We can’t spend three hours together without some kind of quarrel. I don’t know why, but we always fight, not out of hate, but because we both want the best for each other.”

He explained that their frequent disagreements often stem from their efforts to correct and support one another, a trait that has, paradoxically, kept their bond strong over the years. According to Ojopagogo, it’s that underlying intention, the desire to see each other grow, that fuels both their passion and their occasional disputes.

Together, Ojopagogo and Moji Afolayan embody a marriage that balances love with individuality, and support with spirited debate, all while thriving in the demanding world of Nigerian film.

Their story is a testament to how respect, communication, and shared goals can sustain a relationship through both the highs and the daily squabbles.
