OSIMHEN, IHEANACHO NOT FOR MOZAMBIQUE FRIENDLY

The duo of Super Eagles forwards, Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho will be out of field in a friendly match against Mozambique later today.

The game is Nigeria’s second friendly game of the international break and will hold at the Estadio Municipal de Portimäo.

Both Osimhen and Iheanacho have been excused from the Mozambique game due to different issues.

Osimhen, who picked up an injury in the match against against Saudi Arabia in Portimäo, has been allowed to return back to Italy for further assessments.

Iheanacho absent due to personal reasons

In Iheanacho’s case, according to the Nigeria Football Federation, the Leicester City forward has been allowed to leave the Super Eagles camp in order to attend to a pressing personal issue.

However, coach Jose Peseiro remains unperturbed by the recent developments, backing the available players to beat the Mambas.

“We will miss Kelechi and Victor, but we have other good players who can make Nigeria proud. I look at the bench and see players who can step up and take their chances,” the Portuguese tactician said.

With the duo out, Peseiro will have to count on the likes of Victor Boniface and Terem Moffi in attack.
