STOP THE NONSENSE ON POPE, PETER EDOCHIE

Pete Edochie, the ace Nollywood actor, has appealed to Nigerians to stop pushing out “nonsense” narratives about Junior Pope.

Pope died in April after he fell into the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state on his way to a movie location.

He passed away alongside four other crew members in the boat accident.

In a post via his Instagram page, Edochie described Pope as “a gift to the entire world”.

He asked that people pray to God to accept the actor’s soul rather than keep pushing out “nonsense” narratives on social media.

Edochie also appreciated the celebrities who”volunteered” to care for the late actor’s children.

“My son Junior Pope, was a gift to the entire world. A splendid life was cut short the way we never expected. Yes, we shall all go some day but certainly not in this manner,” he said.

“I want to make a general appeal, let us pray to the Almighty God to accept the soul of Junior Pope and cut out all the nonsense we have been putting out in social media.

“Let us allow this young man’s soul to rest. I am making an appeal as a father, please. And I want to seize this opportunity to thank all those who have volunteered to ensure that his children will not suffer.

“Particularly E-Money who has promised that he’s is going to train all those boys to whatever level they want to get to.”

Blessing Ebigieson, the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) president, had earlier said Pope was allegedly provided a life jacked but refused to wear one, claiming it was “dirty”.

She expressed disappointment in Pope’s actions, saying as a “big celebrity”, he should have demanded a clean life jacket or refused to proceed with the shoot until one was provided.
