TINUBU BACK TO NIGERIA

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a series of private visits to France and the United Kingdom (UK).

He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday evening, where he was received by members of his cabinet.

The president’s travels, which were not officially detailed, have sparked speculations about the nature of his engagements abroad.

Bayo Onanuga, media aide to the president, said during the “short working visit,” Tinubu would review his administration’s achievements so far.

Tinubu had departed Abuja for Paris on April 2 for a two-week “working visit,” which was later extended.

During his 19-day absence, Nigeria experienced a notable increase in violent incidents, including killings and abductions by gunmen, particularly in Plateau, Benue, and Borno states. Opposition figures, such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, expressed concerns about the president’s prolonged absence, stating that “Nigeria bleeds while he remains abroad”.
