TINUBU BEGGED ME TO STAY, BODE GEORGE

Chief Bode George, a former military governor of Ondo State, has shared why he remained in Nigeria after Tinubu became president.

In a video shared by Arise TV, George said during campaign for the presidential election, he had made it clear he would leave Nigeria if Tinubu won the election. He emphasized that he meant what he said and wasn’t joking. He said after he made the statement, Tinubu sent his Chief of Staff (CoS), Femi Gbajabiamila, to meet with him . He said Gbajabiamila pleaded with him on behalf of Tinubu.

In Bode George’s words: “During the campaign period I stated it and I meant it that if by whatever measure Bola Tinubu wins this election, I was going to get out of Nigeria. You think I am lying? Once they heard that, Tinubu sent his Chief of Staff, who is my little brother from Lagos State, Gbajabiamila. He said he wanted to see me, it was captured all over the media. He came and said ‘sir, my boss said I should tell you please be calm’ He begged me. They said they were sorry because they knew they had wronged me”.
