According to Kalu, Tinubu, who he described as a street person, is aware of the country’s fluttering economy.
Tinubu moves at night to feel the pulse of the people and is taking steps to address the challenges facing Nigeria, according to the lawmaker.
He stated this on Thursday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today, insisting the President goes around with one or two cars to see things for himself.
“The president himself knows that Nigerians are suffering and hungry. He is a street person; he knows the street very well,” the former Abia State Governor said.
“The president some nights uses his car to go around and know what is happening in Abuja here.
“The president goes around with one or two cars and sees what is happening. He is not a president that is locked up in the room.”
When asked if both of them have resolved their differences, Kalu replied that he had no differences with the President.
“We’ve no differences. We’ve never had differences. I don’t know where you’re getting this news. Before he travelled, only two days before he travelled he was in my house. So, what shows friendship?”
It is no longer news that the removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira by the current administration further worsened the already excruciating hardship in the land.
The cost of basic items has moved beyond the reach of millions of Nigerians.
