YEMI ALADE WINS TRACE AWARDS

Afrobeats superstar, Yemi Alade won Best Music Video at the Inaugural Trace awards held in Kigali, Rwanda.

Yemi Alade emerged the winner for Best Music Video at the Trace Awards for her song ‘Baddie’.

The Nigerian superstar was in close competition with other Nigerian artist like Asake, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage.

The Inaugural Trace Awards commenced on October 20th and it ended on the 22nd.

The Trace Awards, a groundbreaking event, honors the creativity, talent, and impact of African and Afro-inspired musicians and artists, making it the first of its kind.

The Trace Awards represented all African artists in their star studded line up. Top artists from across the African continent, spanning from North to South and East to West, came together for the Trace Awards. This three-day event was divided into two segments: the festival and the award ceremony.

The Trace festival commenced with Masterclasses, Conferences, Fashion Showcase and much more. The nominations were dominated by West African artists, particularly Nigerian artists, with over 40 nominations in total, including multiple nominations for Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Ayra Starr, Davido, WizKid, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy DML and Rema.
