YEMI SOLADE: I TRIED CANNABIS TWICE

Yemi Solade, while discussing his past claims that he smoked cigarettes for 27 years while growing up in Surulere, Lagos. He clarified that smoking was a common occurrence in his life at the time and that it had long been a habit of his.

In an interview with Glitch Africa, Solade admitted to trying marijuana twice out of curiosity rather than addiction. He revealed that he saw Bob Marley in Oduduwa Hall in Ile-Ife on one of those occasions. He claimed that after smoking, he had the odd feeling that he was rising into the air and the earth was shifting. He was deeply affected by that encounter.

According to Solade, he had a memory of a well-known performer who had the potential to be as successful as Bob Marley. But he claims that crack cocaine devastated the musician’s life. Using this example, he demonstrated how drugs may destroy a person’s future regardless of their talent. According to him, “I smoked cigarettes for 27 years while I was growing up in Surulere.

I had two cannabis experiences. I was curious to see what was within. I tried cannabis while I was at Ile-Ife. I watched Bob Mali in the Oduduwa Hall. When it was time to go home, I hauled this thing off, and I believed I was climbing since I could see the ground.”
