Fela’s eldest daughter, Yemi Kuti has said that Seun can not be insulting Wizkid, trying to water down his achievements and expected him to keep shut.
According to her, Seun Kuti is însulting Wizkid because Wizkid refused to give him money. “I’m very disappointed at Seun.”
“I respect Wizkid alot, he’s my friend and I know how much he respects Fela. When Giants fîght, it’s the grass that suffer and Fela was the grass in this fîght.
Wizkid has come a long way and any sane person knows how much he idolizes Fela. I remember Wizkid was a backup singer at the shrine during Feleberation and even after he blew up, he always performed there for free. There’s no way I can ever not like Wizkid. One thing I’ve noticed is that Nigerian media hãtes Wizkid so much. Nobody stopped Seun when he was insultîng Wizkid. We’re one people but you shouldn’t water-down someone’s legacy like Seun did to Wizkid. Wizkid worked very hard for what he has today.
