KANAYO ACCUSES UNIGWE OF BREACH

Veteran Nollywood actor, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, professionally known as Kanayo O Kanayo, has threatened to disrupt any movie production involving Angel Unigwe, the fast-rising actress.

In a social media post, Kanayo accused Unigwe of contract breach.

Kanayo said the mother of the teen actress did not allow her daughter to honour their agreement during a recent production.

He alleged that the youngster’s mum is “fond of botching productions” by taking her daughter away from sets.

Kanayo cited a set where the teen actress was taken away at 9 pm when the set was contractually meant to close at midnight.

He added that the actress’ mother has also been threatening film producers.

Kanayo said his decision to disrupt film productions involving Unigwe is to “save and protect” Nigeria’s film industry.

“A contract is reached by every producer either orally or written and it is all respected,” he said.

“Immediately this woman takes money from you everything changes.

“I have gotten reports from people before it happened to me.

“Last night, she took her daughter at 9 pm when a particular day we agreed had not expired. And this is a clarion call for every producer.

“In the name of professionalism and all that unites us, from the 21st day of June 2024, any set that employs the services of Angel Unigwe, I will come to that set and make sure filming does not hold.”

Unigwe, aged 18, has been featured in several movies and television series.

These include ‘Light in the Dark’, ‘Here Love Lies’, ‘The Olive’, ‘King of Boys’, and ‘Discerning Eyes’.
