NBC VISITS KONGA TV

The National Broadcasting Commission has urged Konga Communications to prioritise climate change sensitization and commerce-related programming in its content offerings.

The disclosure was made in a statement on Sunday following a working visit by the commission’s delegation to KongaTV and KongaFM 103.7 on February 24.

The NBC delegation, led by its Director General, Charles Ebuebu, alongside the Lagos Zonal Director, Raphael Akpan, and Director of Public Affairs, Susan Obi, engaged with the leadership of Konga Communications, including Ifeoma Ajumobi, Head of KongaTV and KongaFM.

During the visit, the commission advised the media outfit to align its programming with at least 70 per cent commerce-related content and 20 per cent news, reflecting Konga’s mission of bridging entertainment and commerce.

It also urged the broadcaster to integrate climate change awareness into its content schedule as part of efforts to promote environmental sustainability.

Konga Communications reaffirmed its commitment to delivering high-quality, regulatory-compliant content while creating platforms for audience engagement and feedback, the statement said.

Speaking on the visit, Ajumobi, expressed gratitude for the NBC’s support and reaffirmed the station’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of broadcasting.

“We are incredibly honored to host the NBC team and gain from their wealth of experience and insight.

Their feedback gives us a clear roadmap to strengthen our content, enhance audience engagement, and ensure we stay true to the NBC code.

“At KongaTV and KongaFM, we are fully committed to creating innovative, commerce-driven, and informative programming while also championing important causes like climate action and community development. This visit has further inspired us to raise the bar,” Ajumobi said.
