Sowore shared on Facebook that Osupa explained his intention behind using the police was to show his non-involvement in any actions that could harm Portable. Osupa acknowledged that his actions might be seen as using the police for repression, leading him to drop the charges.
Sowore emphasized that the police should refrain from using cybercrime charges against individuals in civil disputes. He reiterated his stance, saying, “Our position remains unchanged: the Police should refrain from using Cybercrime charges against anyone in the future.”
Following the meeting, Osupa declared that he had dropped the charges against Portable, which had led to his incarceration at a prison in Ilorin due to his inability to fulfill bail requirements. This development marks a significant turn in the case, with many awaiting Portable’s response.
