K1: I’M A BONAFIDE MEMBER OF CELESTIAL

Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has expressed his love for the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), admitting that he is a bonafide and proud member of the ministry.

Despite being a Muslim, Ayinde revealed this during a pre-recorded interview with Agbaletu TV, stating that he joined the church in his quest to know God. He expressed pride in his decision and relished exploring both Islam and Christianity without regret.

The CCC is a Pentecostal church in the Aladura movement, founded by Samuel Oshoffa. Its members wear distinctive white one-piece garments during worship and follow specific practices, such as removing their shoes while wearing the garments or within the main church.

“I attend Celestial church. I am a bonafide member of the celestial church. A proud one. In fact, I built a church. I sought different religions while trying to know God in both popular religions. There’s nowhere I didn’t try to find God,” he said.

K1 De Ultimate’s revelation about his affiliation with the Celestial Church of Christ comes after a recent controversy surrounding his comments about Islamic clerics. He used the phrase “Ganusi” to describe some alfas, implying they attend ceremonies primarily for financial gain.

The remark sparked widespread criticism from Islamic clerics and Nigerians who felt he denigrated the clerics. However, K1 De Ultimate doubled down on his statement, refusing to apologize and maintaining that he had done nothing wrong.
