I AM CONFIDENT, NOT UNDER ANY PRESSURE – OSIMHEN

Super Eagles striker and African best player, Victor Osimhen has said he remains confident despite his missing clear-cut chances at the ongoing AFCON 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire.

Despite scoring one goal in two appearances for Nigeria in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen remains calm and dismisses any notion of feeling pressured, even after missing several clear-cut chances.

Owing to his status as Africa’s best player, many observers have attributed Osimhen’s missed chances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to the weight of expectations placed on him.

However, the Napoli man has debunked such claims, asserting that his primary focus remains on contributing to the success of the Super Eagles in Cote d’Ivoire.

“I am not under pressure,” Osimhen told reporters in Abidjan.

“I have won the title (African Player of the Year), but it’s now in the past.

“What is most important for me now is to do well with the team, make sure the team do well and win the AFCON.

“I don’t care about my individual performance. I could be on the bench and the other players get the job done.” he said.
