When I spoke out against last FIFA club world cup, many people misunderstood me.
The selection of teams that participated in the tournament was questionable, format disputable, and above all, it threw up a champion that shouldn’t have been in the tournament in the first place. How did a team that played in Conference Cup found its way to the tournament, and sadly go on to become the champion?
Today, that same champion of the world can’t beat lowly teams like Crystal Palace and Brentford in the domestic league. How much can a bade be rubbished!
The last club world cup will go down in history as FIFA’s monumental failure. Those who heckled me for questioning the tournament a month ago, can admit today that I have been vindicated.
