BONIFACE SURVIVES CRASH

Super Eagles Star, Victor Boniface survived a ghastly car crash on Saturday night, a few hours after scoring the winning goal for Bayer Leverkusen against Frankfurt.

Boniface, who had earlier missed a penalty for Bayer Leverkusen in the first half of the encounter, recovered to score the winning goal in the second half to hand the defending champions the maximum points.

He posted a video on his X account on Sunday morning, appreciating God for escaping death in the crash that left his car wrecked.

Boniface said he is doing fine after he sustained two minor injuries to his hand. He is currently receiving treatment.

Boniface was a passenger in the car en-route Frankfurt airport, and suffered minor hand injuries before being taken to hospital.

He took to his X account on Sunday to express his gratitude to God and to update his followers about his state.

Boniface wrote: “Na so una for just hear say my enemy don die. God is the greatest, God says my time hasn’t come.”

The 23-year-old Boniface has scored seven goals in 10 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions this season.

Bayer Leverkusen will be back in action in the Champions League against Brest on Wednesday.
