DON JAZZY IS AMAZING, WIZKID

Nigerian Afrobeat artiste, Ayodeji Balogun, better addressed as Wizkid, has described the Chief Executive Officer of the Marvin record, Michael Collins Ajereh, professionally known as Don Jazzy, as an “amazing human”.

It will be recalled that Wizkid was accused of mocking the music producer when he referred to the producer as an “influencer” in April.

Wizkid, in a recent post, has now referred to Don Jazzy as an “amazing human” in what many believe to be an attempt to clear the air.

Don Jazzy has gained considerable influence in Nigerian music.

He founded Mavin Records, a label that has produced internationally acclaimed music stars.

In turn, Wizkid gained fame in 2011 when he released his debut album ‘Superstar’.

He is considered to be among the three biggest artistes in Nigeria.

Wizkid’s earlier description of Don Jazzy as an “influencer” had attracted criticism, with fans saying the statement was denigratory.

Collins Enebeli Ajereh, Don Jazzy’s father, addressed the remark, stating that Wizkid was entitled to his opinion.

Ajereh asked fans of both music industry personalities not to make a fuss about the matter.

“I do not see why people make anything spectacular out of it,” he said.

“There is no love lost, and there is no need to see it in a different way other than what it was intended to be or what it is.”

Don Jazzy, however, reacted by unfollowing Wizkid on social media.

In May, Don Jazzy appreciated Wizkid for endorsing his signee Ayra Starr’s sophomore album ‘The Year I Turned 21.’
