FATHER TELLS WIZKID TO RISE ABOVE ‘NOISE’

Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has addressed the ongoing rivalry between his son and fellow artist Davido.

Speaking about the situation, Chief Balogun revealed that he has advised Wizkid to ignore the provocations coming from Davido’s fan base, urging him to stay focused and avoid unnecessary distractions.

Chief Balogun, in an interview said, “I told my son that he shouldn’t look or listen to whatever the boys who are supporters of Davido are saying. The supporters are only looking for what they will say to collect money and all of that.”

He explained that fans often seek attention and stir up controversy for their benefit, adding that Wizkid should rise above the noise.

“They are just looking for what they are going to eat and I told him not to pay much attention to them,” he added.

The elder Balogun also mentioned that the rivalry is something he has observed online.

The long-standing tensions between Wizkid and Davido have been the subject of numerous debates among fans, with both musicians being regarded as some of the biggest names in the Nigerian music industry.
