According to Glow FM 99.1, the allegations stem from a handful of former employees who were let go due to their own misconduct, including corruption, theft, and unruly behavior. The station claims that these individuals had been hired despite being exempted from other stations in the city due to their unprofessional conduct.
“Glow FM 99.1 has become aware of an online publication spreading malicious and baseless claims about our station’s management and operations. These allegations, originating from a handful of disgruntled former employees, are entirely false and represent a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
“Let us be unequivocal: Glow FM 99.1 is stronger than ever, and these unfounded allegations are nothing more than the desperate outcry of individuals who are rightly removed due to their own misconduct.
“From inception a year ago, Glow FM 99.1 unknowingly hired individuals who had been in one way or the other exempted from other station within the city due to unprofessional conduct, including corruption, theft and unruly behavior – some of which resulted in legal action. Unfortunately, these individuals continued the same unethical behavior at Glow FM compromising the station’s integrity and mission. As soon as these issues came into light through staff audit and engagement, Glow FM had no choice but to take decisive action. These individuals were compelled to resign, and their removal was both necessary and intentional. Their attempts to distort the truth and paint themselves as victims are nothing more than an effort to cover up their own wrongdoing.” The statement read in part.
Glow FM 99.1 also stated that it took decisive action against these individuals, compelling them to resign and replacing them with experienced, competent, and dedicated professionals who share the station’s vision.
The statement further read, “Glow Fm 99.1 has since infused its team with experienced competent and dedicated professionals who are fully aligned with our vision. Our new team is committed to upholding the highest standards of excellence in broadcasting ensuring that our listeners receive only the best content.
“Claims of a “toxic work environment” and “poor management” are outright fabrications. Glow FM 99.1 is thriving, and the station has been in a better position to serve its audience. The staff purge is nearly complete, and we now have a stronger, more committed team that is focused on delivering high-quality programming. It is ironic that some of the authors of the previous press release who allege a crisis at Glow FM now want to be reengaged, but we have spurned them as we are uncompromising in our strong stand on probity.
“We recognize that the individual spreading these falsehoods are attempting to tarnish our reputation because they could not meet the ethical and professional standards required at Glow FM 99.1. Their slanderous campaign is both deceitful and desperate.”
