I HAD A FIGHT WITH IBRAHIM CHATTA, AFEEZ OWO

Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Afeez Abiodun Owo, recently shared details about a past conflict with his colleague, actor Ibrahim Chatta, which strained their relationship on a movie set, as well as their eventual reconciliation.

In an interview, Afeez disclosed that a heated disagreement erupted between him and Chatta during a film production, leading to a significant fallout that temporarily severed their friendship.

Afeez explained that the misunderstanding arose from tensions on set, though he did not delve into specific details of the dispute. The clash was severe enough to fracture their bond, marking a challenging period for the two actors known for their contributions to Yoruba cinema. However, Afeez emphasized that they later reconciled, rebuilding their relationship through mutual understanding and a commitment to move past the conflict.

According to Afeez Owo, he said, “I used to get to the place before Ibrahim Chatta despite the fact that he lived in the area. The likes of Ibrahim Chatta, Sanyeri, Adekola Tijani, Adebayo Tijani, and Kunle Afod were all part of my success story in the movie industry. I had a fight with Ibrahim Chatta on a movie set, and our friendship was broken. We later met on a movie set, we ignored each other, but when he couldn’t take it anymore, he (Chatta) went to my wife and told her to beg me, and that was how we settled with each other.”

Their reconciliation highlights the strength of their professional and personal respect for each other, allowing them to restore their friendship after a prolonged period of estrangement.
