INOJIE: WHY WOMEN ARE RICHER

People often ask why many actresses seem to be doing better than their male colleagues. The truth is complex. First, women naturally attract more empathy and favour in our society. A man and a woman can carry the same proposal, yet the woman is more likely to hear, come back next week, let us see what we can do for you. That is not a Nollywood problem, it is a human one.

Second, there are those who mix acting with other powerful friendships. A senator here, a representative there, one big business executive somewhere else, and suddenly houses and luxury cars begin to appear. By the time you add all these streams of income, you cannot compare them with a man depending only on his set fee. That is why I refuse to envy anybody’s lifestyle.
