JIBOLA DABO: I DIDN’T MARRY BINTA

Veteran Nollywood actor, Jibola Dabo, has addressed longstanding speculations surrounding his past relationship with fellow actress Binta Ayo Mogaji.

In a recent interview with Punch Newspaper, Dabo clarified that while the two were indeed romantically involved in the year 2000, they were never married.

The actor revealed that their relationship came to an end after he relocated to the United States. At the time, communication between them became difficult due to the lack of accessible mobile technology, which eventually contributed to their growing distance.

Dabo also confirmed that Binta was pregnant during their time together but emphasized that the decision to keep the pregnancy was handled with mutual respect and maturity.

“We were never married, although she got pregnant. We were both mature about the situation,” he explained. He added that the main reason for their separation was a clash in lifestyle and values, which made it difficult to continue the relationship long-term.

After moving abroad, Dabo later met and married a Black American woman of Native American and African-American heritage.

In closing, Dabo reiterated that although he has previously addressed the topic, he wanted to provide clarity for those still unaware of the true circumstances.
