At the heart of its vision is the belief that a strong and credible media ecosystem is vital for the progress of any society, and that Ibadan, with its rich history as a hub of media innovation in Nigeria, can once again set the standard for the nation.

Through this initiative, Media Transformative Group intends to provide continuous professional development opportunities for journalists, broadcasters, and digital media practitioners in the city. This will include a series of intensive training programmes, capacity-building workshops, and peer-to-peer review sessions that will equip media professionals with the tools, knowledge, and confidence required to meet the highest global standards.

In addition to developing human capacity, the Group is committed to supporting the growth and sustainability of media organizations across Ibadan. A distinctive element of the initiative is its emphasis on promoting healthy competition. Transformative Media Group believes that when media practitioners and organizations are challenged to innovate and excel, the overall quality of content and service delivery improves significantly. To this end, the Group will introduce platforms to showcase excellence, highlight innovation, and celebrate outstanding contributions to the profession.

Speaking on the initiative, the spokesperson for Media Transformative Group, Stephen Adedigba , expressed confidence in the transformative power of the platform.

“Our mission is to build a thriving media community that is ethical, credible, and forward-looking. We are creating an ecosystem where collaboration replaces rivalry for rivalry’s sake, where practitioners can sharpen their craft and compete constructively, and where the public can have greater trust in the information they consume. We believe that when the media grows, society grows.”

The Group will begin rolling out its programmes in the coming months, with the first phase focusing on stakeholder engagement, training sessions, mentorship opportunities for young media professionals.
