NBC CELEBRATES ACHARA

The Management and Staff of the National Broadcasting Commission on Monday celebrated the retirement of an exceptional Public Servant, the Director, Broadcast Policy and Research, Mr. Matthews Onyedikachi Achara, who is described as an embodiment of the Public Service Rule.

He began his career with the Commission in 1998 as a Senior Administrative Officer in Umuahia zone and was the first Human Resource Officer in the zone.

Through diligence and commitment, he rose through the ranks where he served in different capacities such as the Secretary to the Board of the Commission, Director DG’ s office, Director Human Resources and Administration and retired as Director, Broadcast Policy and Research.

The Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Mallam Balarabe Shehu Ilelah referred to him as his friend and praised his humility and efficiency in the discharge of his duty while noting, that his administrative and teaching abilities are still needed at the Commission’s broadcast Institute.

Members of staff were highly elated yet emotional about his retirement. Goodwill messages and prayers were abundant, highlighting his unique professional and personal qualities.

Mr. Matthews Achara thanked God for preserving him throughout his years of service while expressing his gratitude to all who have worked with him for their support during his time at the Commission.

The outgoing Director, Broadcast Policy and Research, appreciated the Management and staff of the Commission for their kind words and best wishes.

He, thereafter, urged staff to remain committed and diligent in the discharge of their duties and continue to coexist peacefully in order to achieve the goals of the Commission.
